Report Piracy
Unauthorised use of our software is a criminal offence. If you know of it, report it here — in confidence.
Software piracy is the unauthorised copying, distribution or use of software. It is a criminal offence, and it is damaging.
We put a large share of what we earn back into research and development — into the correlations, the validation work and the field experience that make our tools worth using. Unauthorised use takes that directly out of the next version, and it penalises the engineers who license our software properly.
It is also a security risk to whoever runs it. Cracked engineering software is a known carrier for malware, it cannot be updated, and it never receives the correction when a calculation error is found. A design signed off on an unpatched pirated tool is a liability that outlives the saving.
What counts as unauthorised use
- A cracked copy, or a licence key obtained from anywhere other than us
- More installations or users than the licence permits
- Use after a licence has expired or been terminated
- A licence shared across companies, sites or departments it does not cover
- An academic or trial licence used for commercial work
- Our software offered for download, resale or hire
